Strathmore University Business School Establishes the AfCFTA Policy and Development Hub and appoints Dr. Alexander Ezenagu as its first Director

Strathmore University Business School is proud to announce the establishment of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) Policy and Development Hub and the subsequent appointment of Dr. Alexander Ezenagu as the first Director of the Hub, further solidifying its commitment to fostering excellence in trade and investment research and policy on the African continent.

Dr. Ezenagu, a distinguished scholar and expert in international law, trade, investment, and tax, joins Strathmore University Business School with a wealth of experience that spans academia, legal practice, and research. With a Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L) from McGill University and a Masters in Commercial Law from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, Dr. Ezenagu brings a wealth of knowledge and practical experience in the areas of trade and investment.

At Strathmore University Business School, Dr. Ezenagu will lead the AfCFTA Policy Hub in its mission to become a premier institution dedicated to advancing research, knowledge dissemination, and capacity building in trade, policy, and investment. His exceptional background in international corporate taxation, competition law, and corporate finance will play a pivotal role in guiding the Hub’s initiatives.

Dr. Ezenagu has also been appointed as a Senior Research Fellow at Strathmore University Business School.

Working closely with the AfCFTA Secretariat, the AfCFTA Policy Hub aims to address the unique trade challenges and opportunities facing Africa by conducting cutting-edge research, facilitating knowledge dissemination, and offering capacity-building programs. Strathmore University, known for its dedication to academic excellence and fostering innovation, is pleased to establish the AfCFTA Policy Hub in the mission of the African Union to actualise one African market.

With Dr. Alexander Ezenagu at the helm, the AfCFTA Policy Hub is poised to make significant contributions to the realization of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement’s transformative potential.
