Financial Services is an area in the business ecosystem associated with the management of money, value creation, financial assets and property.

Every organisation or individual utilises financial services and benefits from them and the individuals who advise and manage those activities are in line for top financial rewards.

The BFS programme is designed to reflect the changing world of financial services and the digital disruption that comes with it. A very practical, case study-based approach is at the core of programme delivery.

Introduction

The Bachelor of Financial Services (BFS) programme aims at unifying the financial services sector by providing a firm foundation in the world of work in financial management, business analytics and skills of people working in the financial sector, microfinance sector, banking sector, financial cooperatives sector and emergent financial services providers in general.

Key Information
Entry Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • KCSE minimum mean aggregate of B-(minus) or
  • 6 credits at O-Level, A-Level 3 principal passes or
  • IB Diploma of 34 points out of 45
  • A distinction in the Strathmore Entrance Exam
  • Proven leadership skills in school and c0mmunity and outstanding performance in extra-curricular activities are an added advantage
Admission

All candidates meeting the entry requirements are required to sit in the University entrance examination in English and Mathematics and an oral interview.

Interviews are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8.00 am.

Candidates are required to bring:

  • originals and copies of relevant academic certificates
  • 2 passport-size photographs
  • a photocopy of birth certificate or National ID or Passport
  • an exam fee Kshs. 2,000 entrance
