Between January and March 2023, the Sisters’ Blended Value Project marked a major milestone, graduating more than 200 Catholic Sisters from across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia.

The sisters were graduating from two Programmes, the Social Enterprise Programme Start-up, and the Social Enterprise Programme – Growth and were pulled from different congregations under the ACWECA umbrella. The graduations came after a year-long training which consisted of in-class sessions, guest speaker session and company visits, all aimed at strengthening the capacity of the sisters to better run their social enterprises.

The graduations were held across the 4 countries in colourful ceremonies that were graced by leadership from both Strathmore University and the Association of the Consecrated of East and(ACWECA). The guests applauded the sisters’ entrepreneurial spirit, innovation and dedication to creating social impact.

The Sisters’ Blended Value Project has been a tremendous success, through developing the capacities of consecrated women to transform their social ministries to sustainable social enterprises. The project has provided a platform for women to showcase their skills, creativity, and leadership qualities. As the sisters move forward, they will undoubtedly continue to create positive change in their communities and beyond.
