Introduction To First Decisions

Parenting 8 to 11 year olds

During the last years of childhood girls and boys are more self-assured in the way in which they relate with their environment.

This forces them to make a great many personal decisions in many everyday situations. In order to be able to choose, they need to have a scale of values to use as a reference.

On this Family Enrichment course parents analyze the importance of living according to a scale of values, how to pass them on to their children and how to help them abide by them.

At this age girls and boys are in the best stage of childhood, the most receptive time, so certain matters cannot be left till later, and it is no use doing it when the problems of puberty or adolescence arrive. Now is the time to establish virtues and values.
