Thomas Mundia, a Professional Certified Coach accredited by the International Coaching Federation, stands as an Executive Fellow and Coach at the prestigious Strathmore University Business School where he co-founded the coaching department. With an extensive background and cross-cultural experience spanning various public and private sectors such as Financial, Manufacturing, Media, FMCG, Government Departments, County governments and Non-Governmental Organizations, he brings a wealth of experience and wisdom to the coaching arena. With over 1500 hours of coaching, he has guided numerous Business owners, Board of directors, industry leaders and decision-makers across Africa and in Europe and Asia, emphasizing the importance of virtuous leadership, corporate governance, work-life integration, culture of psychological safety and trust and emotional intelligence.
Thomas has served the Executive Committees of Housing Finance Bank Uganda, I&M Bank Rwanda, NSSF Uganda, International Livestock Research Institute Ethiopia, MultiChoice, DFCU Bank Uganda, ABSA Group, Safaricom Kenya, and AIG Kenya as well as Lead Coach of the Bill and Melinda Gates Funded Leadership, Management and Governance program (Cameroon, Mali, Côte D’Ivoire, Kenya, Rwanda and Ghana).
His strength lies in his ability to create a safe space for vulnerability to happen as well as his ability to integrate psychometric assessments and innovative coaching models to explore underlying forces shaping behavior. His personal coaching model, REAL (Relationships, Ethical, Authentic, and Leadership), serves as a cornerstone for transformative coaching conversations for individuals and teams.
With a rich educational background and an array of certifications from esteemed institutions such as The Performance Solution (TPS-UK), Center for Right Relationships (CRR-UK) and the Institute of Social and Emotional Intelligence (USA), Thomas Mundia stands as a Certified Organization and Relationship Systems Coach and a Certified emotional and social intelligence coach. His roles within the Africa Executive Coaching Council, the Africa Board of Coaching, Consulting, and Coaching Psychology (ABCCCP) as well as pro bono coaching for the ICF foundation further underscore his commitment to excellence and leadership in the coaching sphere. He is currently pursuing his Master Certification in coaching and a doctoral study in Leadership coaching.
