SBS Graduates 175 Family Bank Employees in the a Customised Training Programme

On Friday, 13th May 2022, we graduated 175 Family Bank staff members in a Customised training Programme dubbed “Leading The Family Bank Way”. The participants trained included the members of the Executive Committee, senior managers, middle-level managers and new managers from across the different Family Bank branches across the country.

The “Leading the Family Bank Way” Programme is a Customised Programme for Family Bank, designed  to strengthen the leadership capabilities of the Bank’s employees at the executive committee level, senior management level, middle management level and the first management level. Further, the Programme aimed to transform the leaders and help them get an understanding of the scope of customers’ expectations.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony, Dr. Elizabeth Gachenga, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Student and Academic Affairs at Strathmore University, emphasised the importance of organisational values and their contribution to an organization’s culture. “Without values, there is no culture. We congratulate Family Bank for taking the initiative to build culture and maintain the Family Bank organisational values through their leaders,” she noted.

Ms. Rebecca Mbithi, the CEO, Family Bank, who was also graduating, lauded the participants for their tenacity and commitment throughout the training Programme. “The journey we embarked on together has been transformational. It has helped us not only align our goals to strategy but also change our mindsets to enable us to realize that everyone is a leader in their own right,” she said.

In his remarks, Elijah Kariuki, the Chief Human Resource Officer at Family Bank Kenya, challenged the participants to cascade their newly found knowledge for the achievement of a common goal as a bank.
