The landscape of healthcare management is ever evolving, marked by rapid advancements in technology, shifting regulatory frameworks, and changing patient needs. Considering these dynamic challenges, the importance of fostering innovative leaders in healthcare has never been more critical.

The Ph.D. in Healthcare Management Programme at Strathmore University Business School aims to equip healthcare management systems managers with skills for leading, managing and doing research and analyses on various facets and challenges that confront healthcare organizations.

Between 9th and 23rd February 2024, we hosted 2024 Class of the Ph.D. in Healthcare Management Programme, which kicked-off with an orientation session on Friday, 9th February 2024. The orientation served as the first step in preparing aspiring scholars to navigate the complexities of this dynamic field.

During the 2-week module, the scholars were able to gain insights into the different facets of the healthcare system. The students had the opportunity to explore the Programme, meet the faculty and immerse themselves in the Programme’s objectives, the curriculum, and their expectations from the Programme.

The Ph.D. in Healthcare Management Programme is a transformative experience that shapes the future of healthcare leadership. By providing students with a comprehensive overview of the Programme, fostering engagement with faculty, building a supportive community, and instilling a sense of purpose and direction, the orientation sets the stage for academic excellence and professional success. As students embark on this journey, they carry with them the knowledge, skills, and networks needed to navigate the complexities of healthcare management and make a lasting impact in the field.
