Martin Mbaya

Martin Mbaya serves as a Faculty Member at the Strathmore Institute of Public Policy and Governance.

He teaches, undertakes research, consults, and grows enterprises with a focus on Public Policy, Digital Learning, and Trade.

Martin is a Founding Director of Utawala Applied Research Institute the legacy of a 2013-2014 Ford Foundation grant to support Devolution on Kenya.

Martin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School.

He is also Founder of EnAdIn Ltd and a Co-Founder of Nairobi Capital Inc. a Trustee of the AHS Endowment Fund Trust, a Trustee of the Adebisi Babatunde Thomas Entrepreneurship Institute (ABTEI), a Trustee of its affiliated Endowment Foundation Trust and a Governing Council Member of the African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS). Martin is a 2015 Tutu Fellow.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.

Master’s degree in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School.
