CBOs and cooperatives employ millions in Kenya. The cooperative sector alone has over 14 million members, mobilises KES 250 billion in savings, contributes 45% to GDP, provides direct employment for 555,000 people, and creates 1.5 million self-employment opportunities in sectors such as agriculture and services.
