SBS Alumnus Appointed Regional Managing Director, InterSwitch East Africa

Strathmore University Business School wishes to congratulate Peter Kawumi on his recent appointment as the Regional Managing Director, Interswitch East Africa. In this role, Peter assumes responsibility for strategic, sustainable growth and consolidation of all our businesses and initiatives within East Africa.

Peter’s career spans more than 12 years with roles in technology, business analysis and retail banking, including leading the Digital Finance departments in regional and local banks.

He also serves on the Boards of New Vision Group as a non-Executive Director, The Leadership Team as a non-Executive Director and the Fintech Association of Uganda as the Board Chairman.

Peter holds a BSc. (Hons) in Software Engineering from Kingston University and a Master of Business Administration (with distinction) from the Edinburgh Business School. He is also an alumnus of the Senior Management Leadership Programme, Class of 2022.
