This course is designed to support public sector leaders in Africa in aligning with Agenda 2063‘s objectives.

It focuses on strengthening governance skills and enhancing the efficiency of African governments.

Participants will also gain insights into ethical leadership and key governance values.

Participants cibles

The programme is designed for both Public and Private Sector Leaders in African countries who are involved in critical decision making in the making of public policy and its implementation.

These includes Government officials:

• PS, Secretaries, and directors;
• Parastatal officials: CEO, Directors, and Senior managers;
• County Governments like CEC, County Executives Committee members, Chief Officers.

Participants will be selected based on professional achievements and organizational responsibilities.

Participants will cover the following areas in 4 modules:

• The fundamentals of Public Leadership, including its political nature, in the 21st Century: How Globalization, decentralization, and knowledge economies are redefining public sector leadership as change agents and guardians of public service values.
• The Dynamics of Public Leadership in Africa: The course explores how leadership dynamism in policy enactment impacts implementation in African countries, aligning with the vision for 2063 to transform Africa into a global powerhouse.
• Leading Policy Design: The international dimensions of Public Policy in Africa: Understand designing and delivering policies or programs that address social and economic problems.
• The international dimensions of Public Policy in Africa: How expanded foreign influence affects national trends and policies, Increase trade and greater openness with respect to foreign investment.
• Effective implementation of public policy: Understand the essential components for effective policy implementation, including clear leadership, the right team, and governance arrangements aligned with national laws and international standards.
