Carol Musyoka

Carol Musyoka is an Adjunct Faculty member at Strathmore University Business School (SBS) and is the Lead Faculty in the SBS Board Governance programmes in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda.

She holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Nairobi and a Master of Law degree from Cornell University, a private Ivy League university in the United States of America (USA).

She is also a recipient of the 2010 Eisenhower Fellowship for International Leadership, a renowned initiative that empowers and connects innovative leaders globally. With over 10 years of financial leadership experience working on several landmark corporate finance transactions, Carol Musyoka exhibits extensive deal origination, negotiation, structuring and execution skills.

She also has executive management and board experience which she accredits to her time spent as the Corporate Director, Barclays Bank of Kenya as well as the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of K-Rep Bank – now Sidian Bank, Kenya’s first micro-finance institution.

Carol Musyoka has previously served on and retired from the boards of at least 12 private and not for profit organizations including: BOC Gases, Institute of Economic Affairs, Opportunity Kenya and the African Legal Support Facility of the African Development Bank. In addition to that, she has been a co-facilitator on Fast Forward, a local leadership development program that provides leadership insights to Chief Executive Officers and C-Suite management of leading companies in Kenya.

As a faculty member, she provides leadership deliveries to some of their global clients, among them, CapitalPlus Exchange, a Chicago based organization providing peer-learning events to small business banking financial institutions in Africa and Asia.

Qualifications

Master of Law degree from Cornell University.

Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Nairobi.

Carol is part of the Durham, North Carolina based Duke Corporate Education faculty, a subsidiary of Duke University which is known for its superior academic reputation and high selectivity.

She also sits as a non-executive director on the boards of East Africa Breweries Ltd and British American Tobacco Ltd, both of which are Nairobi Securities Exchange blue-chip companies.

Currently, Ms. Musyoka provides bespoke training solutions to several multinational and locally owned companies in the region on Leadership and Corporate Governance. Concurrently, on appointment by former Attorney General Githu Muigai, she is the chair to the board of directors of the Business Registration Service Board.
