Dr. Majid Twahir is the Associate Dean, Research and Innovation & lecturer at the Strathmore University Business School in the Institute of Healthcare Management, teaching undergraduate, postgraduate, doctorate and executive programmes.
He is a skilled leader in Business Planning, Strategy Implementation, Quality Management, Operations and Change Management and consults for various organizations in these areas.
His areas of expertise are strategy, operations and change management.
Dr. Twahir has more than 30 years’ experience in the health industry starting from a junior doctor to hospital leadership, making him a very experienced leader in the hospital & health care industry with a demonstrated track record of exemplary service and clear achievements in top healthcare institutions in Kenya.
He is a non-executive member of the Board of Trustees at Strathmore University Foundation and was a founding advisory council member of Executive Health Management Programme of Strathmore University Business School and served in this council for two terms.
Qualifications
Doctor of Business Administration (Strategic Management) from United States International University
Master of Business Administration (Strategy) from Strathmore University Business School
He also holds advanced medical qualifications, namely Post Fellowship Certificate in Nephrology, Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.
Majid is also a Certified Professional Mediator and is currently completing his law degree.
His interests are in strategy, change and operational efficiency, and recently in alternative dispute resolution in healthcare.
