East Africa Health Expo 2023: Creating Linkages for Improved Healthcare

On 4th and 5th May 2023, we hosted the Annual East Africa Health Expo 2023, an event that brought together more than 100 stakeholders in the East African health sector to discuss how to create linkages for improved health in the region.

The event themed: Creating Linkages to Develop, Enhance and Deploy Innovations for Improved Health aimed to create a platform where healthcare professionals can discuss emerging issues in healthcare as well as the opportunities for collaboration and increased growth.

Central to this year’s Expo, was an exploration of the role of healthcare innovations in promoting multi sectoral coordination and cooperation in a bid to meet Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to improved health.

The conversations on day one included in-depth panel sessions on road safety and health, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and health and the role and impact of healthcare innovations. Further, a team from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) had the opportunity to showcase 7 key innovations revolutionizing the health sector.

On day two, the conversations revolved around patient safety and service quality along with education, nutrition and how they relate to health.

The East Africa Health Expo is an annual event, organized by the Institute of Healthcare Management at Strathmore University Business School (SBS) that aims to engage and rally investors, private sector technology stakeholders, development partners, counties and national government, healthcare providers (including medical service and research providers, pharmaceutical companies, equipment providers, and health insurance), healthcare administrators, non-governmental agencies and various institutions in achieving various their specific objectives.
