Four years ago, the students of the Bachelor of Commerce Evening Programme walked into Strathmore University as strangers, each carrying their own reasons for choosing to pursue the Evening Programme. What followed were four years of early mornings and late nights, classes squeezed in between work and other commitments, exams sat after long days, and countless moments of doubt and determination in equal measure.
Along the way, strangers became classmates, classmates became friends, and the shared grind of balancing work and other responsibilities during the day and studying in the evenings forged bonds that will likely outlast the degree itself.
On Friday, 24th July 2026, the students came together once more, this time not for a class but for a gala dinner in their honour. The dinner was a celebration of the culmination of this journey, a journey that will be crowned with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree on 13th August 2026.
The guest speaker, Mr. Kaveet Mehta, Commercial Director at Wessex Pharmaceuticals Limited, congratulated the students on completing their study journey. He applauded them for sticking it out through the four years of study and putting in the work to get to this point. He also acknowledged the role of discipline and commitment in seeing a degree through to completion while balancing life’s demands and responsibilities.
As the students prepare to get back into the world of work, a degree wiser, Mr. Mehta encouraged them to carry a positive outlook with them, to apply themselves fully in whatever they pursue next, and to bring the same diligence that got them through their studies into their careers. Congratulations to the Bachelor of Commerce, Class of 2026!
