We ended the month of May on a high note as e hosted a paper development workshop in partnership with the Academy on International Business (AIB).
The workshop, aimed at fostering academic excellence among African researchers brought together scholars, researchers, and students for two days of intensive learning and mentorship, aimed at enhancing the quality of academic papers and advancing research in international business.
The workshop commenced with a warm welcome from Strathmore University’s Vice-Chancellor, who highlighted the institution’s commitment to promoting academic research and international collaboration. He emphasized the importance of such workshops in providing a platform for scholars to refine their research, receive constructive feedback, and engage with peers and experts in the field. Sharing his personal experiences, he illustrated how similar workshops had significantly enhanced his own research capabilities.
The AIB Paper Development Workshop featured a series of sessions designed to cover various aspects of academic paper development. Renowned scholars and experienced researchers facilitated these sessions, offering valuable insights and practical advice on topics such as research design, methodology, literature review, and data analysis. Participants also had an opportunity to present their work-in-progress papers, which were then reviewed and critiqued by the facilitators and fellow participants.
The workshop also featured panel discussions on contemporary issues in international business research. These discussions provided a broader perspective on the evolving trends and challenges in the field, encouraging participants to think critically and innovatively about their own research topics. The panels included distinguished academics and industry experts who shared their insights on topics such as globalization, emerging markets, and the impact of technology on international business.
One of the highlights of the workshop was the interactive mentoring sessions. Participants engaged in one-on-one discussions with established scholars, receiving tailored feedback and guidance. This personalized mentorship was instrumental in helping participants identify areas of improvement, refine their research questions, and enhance the overall quality of their papers.
The AIB Paper Development Workshop at Strathmore University stands as a testament to the institution’s dedication to academic excellence and research development. By hosting such events, Strathmore University continues to position itself as a leading center for research and scholarship in international business. The success of this workshop underscores the importance of providing platforms for scholars to enhance their research skills, collaborate with peers, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in their fields.
