Strathmore University Business School Executive Education Graduation 2023

In a bid to developing sustainable businesses for Africa, the Strathmore University Business School (SBS) Executive Education department in the past year has trained 2,438 executives across the various Programmes, comprising of 959 men and 1,270 women. The participants trained were drawn from 11 African countries; Kenya Ouganda Tanzanie Rwanda Sud Soudan Somali, Cote D’Ivoire Mali Cameroun Ghana et Maroc.

Friday, 1st December 2023 served as the culmination of our executive education Programmes at SBS in a colourful graduation ceremony that saw more than 300 executives graduate from various executive education Programmes.
Giving his opening remarks, Dr. Caesar Mwangi, Executive Dean, SBS, noted that the graduation not only signified an academic achievement but also a celebration of leaders who are prepared to embark on the journey of developing sustainable businesses for Africa. “During your time with us, we have endeavored to impart not just theoretical knowledge but also a deep sense of the greater good and the skills required to lead with purpose. As you take this monumental step into the realm of sustainable business development, we are proud to say that we are graduating leaders who can reimagine, reinvent, and rebuild businesses. Together, we can multiply the positive impact we can have on our society,” Dr. Mwangi noted.
The keynote speaker, Mike Eldon, Management Consultant, Author and Chairman of the Board, Occidental Insurance, urged the business leaders graduating to continuously inculcate integrity and trust both as individuals and in their organizations. He gave a leadership reflection from his lengthy experience working with public and private sector. During his reflection, he noted that the lack of trust and integrity causes many businesses to fail. “There will be less waste of time & money if individuals & businesses alike commit to inculcating integrity in all their undertakings,” Mike noted.

In its endeavor to transform leadership in Africa in the 21st Century, Strathmore University Business School (SBS) has taken the responsibility of influencing the leadership of public and private sectors across the continent. This is the overarching mission at SBS, Service to Society through the development of international executive business management and leadership programs. Since its inception in 2005 and coming at a time when the world and Africa face extraordinary challenges, SBS’s mission to develop transformative business leaders is even more relevant.
