On Thursday, 8th May 2025, we officially launched the NCBA Relationship Managers Programme (RM DNA)—a visionary initiative to equip NCBA’s relationship managers with the skills, mindset, and leadership capabilities required for the future.
Speaking during the launch event, Dr. Caesar Mwangi, Executive Dean, Strathmore Business School emphasized, “We are honored to walk alongside NCBA on this transformative journey. This programme goes beyond technical training, it is about embedding customer obsession as a way of life. Together, we are building future-ready professionals—leaders who will drive impact with integrity, wisdom, agility, and creativity. Change begins with people.”
He added, “We are confident that this programme will set a new benchmark in the region for how financial institutions invest in their greatest asset: their people.”
Dr. Mwangi further added: “This partnership with NCBA is not just timely; it is visionary. It’s the people within institutions who carry the vision forward, influence culture, and deliver impact where it matters most. We are co-creating a future where service, empathy, and excellence define every customer interaction.”
The RM DNA programme is anchored on five core pillars: understanding the NCBA Relationship Manager, Customer Obsession, Delivering the NCBA Customer Promise, Business Acumen, and The Relationship Manager of the Future.
Beyond the curriculum, the Programme will include impactful coaching sessions—drawing on insights like those of Sir John Whitmore—to bridge the gap between theory and practice. During the launch event, the participants engaged in role-playing exercises, coaching each other through real challenges, and exploring their personality styles—whether red, yellow, green, or blue—to deepen their understanding of diverse communication approaches. These experiences reinforced how coaching can unlock personal growth, foster collaboration, and enhance performance.
John Gachora, Group MD of NCBA Bank Group, encouraged participants to embrace the journey ahead fully: “To all of you embarking on this transformative experience, face it with openness, dedication, and belief.
