Overview
This year in the month of March, we join the global celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD), a day dedicated to honoring the remarkable achievements of women in every field—social, economic, cultural, and political—while raising our collective voice in support of gender equality.
Despite the progress we’ve made, the latest World Economic Forum Global Gender Gap Report 2024 warns us that gender parity is still over 130 years away. That’s five generations before we can expect equal representation. But, we aren’t waiting for the future—we’re accelerating action now.
This year’s theme, #AccelerateAction, calls for a swift and unified effort to address the systemic barriers and biases women face both personally and professionally. These barriers stifle their full potential and prevent gender parity from becoming a reality.
We are excited to bring together an inspiring lineup of speakers from diverse backgrounds who will share their journeys, insights, and strategies for overcoming the challenges women encounter in the workplace. They’ll highlight the impactful work being done to break down the walls that hinder women from advancing into leadership positions, sharing both their successes and the obstacles they continue to face.
Objectives for SBS IWD 2025:
1. Celebrate Progress: Acknowledge the strides made toward achieving gender parity and the women who’ve led the charge.
2. Highlight Gender Parity in the Workplace: Explore why equal opportunities for women are essential to success in business and society.
3. Tackle Systemic Barriers: Engage in conversations around the structural challenges that prevent women from advancing and how to break those cycles.
4. Share Best Practices: Showcase organizational strategies that support gender equality and the growth of women in leadership.
5. Foster Collaboration & Networking: Create a dynamic platform for knowledge-sharing, support, and collaboration among women leaders.
Together, let’s accelerate the change that will shape a more equitable world for everyone. The time is now. Let’s make gender parity not just a goal but a reality—for the women of today and the generations to come.
