Last week, the Senior Management Leadership Programme (SMLP), Class of 2021 went for their local company visit. This year, the participants visited Afrimac Nut Company Limited.
The main purpose of the local company visit aims to showcase locally-owned and operated businesses with unique business models. The SMLP participants got an opportunity to learn about the company’s operations, target market and business model through interaction with the team at Afrimac.
The company visits give the SMLP participants an opportunity to analyze real business scenarios as they immerse themselves in the various contemporary business challenges.
Afrimac Nut Company is a Kenyan company that engages primarily in agro-food processing, more specifically for macadamia nuts. In terms of their business model, Afrimac deals in processing macadamia nuts and oil purely for export. The primary market for the macadamia nuts are, USA, parts of Asia and Middle East and more so Kosher markets.
