Last week, Strathmore University Business School (SBS) had the distinct honor of hosting Professor Mazernna Cichosz, a Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management from SGH Warsaw School of Economics in Poland.
During her visit, Professor Cichosz engaged in partnership discussions with the SBS management team, represented by Dr. David Mathuva, Associate Dean, Academic Affairs at SBS and the SBS Undergraduate Programmes team, led by Dr. Everlyne Makhanu, Director of Undergraduate Programmes at SBS. The discussions explored potential areas of collaboration between Strathmore University and SGH Warsaw School of Economics.
In addition to these discussions, Professor Cichosz delivered a guest lecture to students undertaking the BSc. Supply Chain and Operations Management Programme and conducted a mini research workshop. Her lecture provided a valuable platform for in-depth conversations on cultivating resilience and sustainability within supply chains, particularly focusing on the context of Kenya and Africa as a whole.
Professor Cichosz’s visit served as a catalyst for further collaboration and knowledge exchange between Strathmore University and SGH Warsaw School of Economics. It underscored the importance of international partnerships in advancing academic research, innovation, and excellence in the field of Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
The Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain and Operations Management Programme is designed to integrate supply chain, logistics, operations and digitization. Special emphasis is placed on Production, Logistics, Big Data, Blockchain, Automation and Artificial Intelligence, and how they will impact supply chain and operations management in the near and far future.
