The inaugural Senior Managers Leadership Program began on a high note on Monday 18th July with a lecture on Leadership and Self Leadership delivered by Prof. Joan Mansour. The module which is the first of a series that will run from July 2011 Januray 2012 was themed Understanding Self and Business Systems.
The participants, senior executives and team members with significant management responsibilities were able to take home key insights on Analysis of Business Problems, Strategy Execution, Financial and Managerial Accounting, Operations and Service Management and Case Study.
The pool of local and international faculty included Prof. Joan Mansour, Dr. Edward Mungai, Dr. Allan Mulengani , Dr. Monica Kerretts, David Wangombe and Prof. Alejandro Lago.
The program aimed at enabling the participants to improve their ability to provide informed and effective analysis of business issues, gain a focus on leading people and creating value and enhance their capacity to implement change.
The program ended with a practical Lego game that facilitated Operations and service management as it involves creativity and helps develop critical thinking that is crucial in operations management.
This program integrates key management concepts and best practices to develop strategic thinking and leadership skills as well as an integrated view of the business landscape in relations to the market dynamics. It offers a transformational learning experience that prepares the senior executive to assume responsibilities at the highest level as they lead their companies and institutions to achieve sustainable competitive edge.
