Ms. Lynette Mwende Ndile, an alumnus of SBS, while on a visit to her Alma Mater was gracious enough to give us a peak into her outstanding career which she accredits to her time at Strathmore University Business School (SBS).
A comely young lady with an enthralling mind you can’t help but be mesmerized by what she has managed to accomplish as a young professional in her career. Ms. Ndile is currently working as a public policy and advocacy manager, runs her own non-governmental organization called LINA Youth Foundation and was a part of our master’s programme, class of 2018. “Studying at SBS really helped me demystify this thing called public policy, it helped me understand my projects and how to align the policy with its implementation framework” said Lynette. She explained how the SBS programmes shaped her career as a public policy specialist not only in the education sector but opening doors for service to society through her philanthropic endeavors. She pointed out the value she saw in the theory learned during her time here as she now disseminates those lessons to her peers at work.
Judging by her accomplishments one would describe her as a top achiever, self-motivated and highly ambitious. In her current role she is the project lead of a technical education project that involves conducting evidence-based research to address programmatic and policy evidence gaps in society. This is barely scratching the surface when it comes to the scope of her work. She began her higher education academic career in Beijing at the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics graduating with a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering and flight design. During her stay in Beijing she was never idle as she challenged herself to learn mandarin Chinese at the Beijing Language and Culture University. In 2017 Ms. Ndile attained a certificate in Global Leadership from the New York University Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and went on to receive an Advanced Certificate in Public Relations at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations from London, United Kingdom.
In our journey through life we come across experiences and opportunities for learning that shape and mold us, our alumni continue to show just that. Lynette’s career and life in general cannot be describe in a flier but a novel filled with riveting chapters, each story inspirational. See her interview below.
