SBS Alumnus Appointed Managing Director UAP Insurance Company Limited Kenya

Strathmore University Business School (SBS) Advanced Management Programme (AMP) Alumnus, Mr. David Kuria was recently appointed Managing Director UAP Insurance Co. Ltd. Kenya. UAP Old Mutual Group is one of Kenya’s top financial solutions companies.

Mr. Kuria has over 22 years’ experience in Insurance across the East African Region having held several senior positions in the Kenyan Insurance industry prior to taking up this role. He joined UAP in 2014 taking up a position as the Managing Director- General Insurance, Health and Property Businesses in Uganda and thereafter working as the Managing Director – UAP Insurance and UAP properties Businesses in South Sudan.

The company believes he will be instrumental in driving the business topline, bottom-line and shareholder value. UAP Group are confident in his leadership skills and believes he will deliver great value, support and innovation to their valued customers.

UAP Old Mutual have a standing relationship with SBS having enrolled 40 of their senior management staff here in 2018 under the ‘Aspire Leadership Development Programme’.

The Advanced Management Programme

AMP is a joint programme between SBS, Lagos Business School (LBS) and IESE Business School, Barcelona, Spain. It helps business leaders develop the professional and personal capabilities required to successfully meet their professional endeavours. The programme offers an invaluable opportunity to learn from high-calibre faculty members, interact with a group of senior-level peers and strengthen leadership skills. It is designed to propel executive lead on the global arena.

Programme Delivery

The AMP is divided into 4 separate modules that are spread out over 9 months. The last module is held on IESE’s campus in Barcelona, Spain.

Module I: Understanding the Business Landscape, Strathmore Business School, Nairobi

Module II: Managing Value Creation, Lagos Business School, Nigeria

Module III: Leading Innovation and Change, Strathmore Business School, Nairobi

Module IV: Getting Things Done, IESE Business School, Spain

The programme is designed for CEOs and directors in private and public sectors, with at least 10 years senior management experience. All are welcome to register for the March 8th, 2019 programme.
