Module III of the Executive Healthcare Management Program (EHMP) which offers a unique opportunity to healthcare professionals to develop and enhance their skill sets in order to create high performing healthcare organisations was held at Strathmore Business School.
The week long modules participants who are healthcare professionals covered topics in health management information, operations management, health systems and management, health policy and innovation. The seasoned pool of faculty comprised of Dr. Freddie Acosta, Dr. Reuben Marwanga, Dr. Edward Rukwaro, Dr. Ben Ngoye and Dr. Edward Mungai. The module enhanced the leadership capacity of the participants and ended with a hospital visit to the Metropolitan Hospital.
Module IV will begin in October.
The healthcare industry is one of the fastest growing and constantly evolving industries in the world. The industry in Africa is also rapidly changing and has to face challenges such as resurgence of old diseases such as tuberculosis as well as an increase in chronic diseases caused by a growing aging population. Healthcare providers must also be able to understand and evaluate new dynamics such as health managed organisations, rapid advancement in the medical and information technology, increased competition and growing demands for greater transparency from patients.
