MBA Students Hold Vigil for Garissa Victims

  Apr 17, 2015

On 10th April, 2015 Strathmore Business School MBA Students broke the tradition and cancelled the end of Semester Dinner to honor and pay tribute to 147 Students and security officers who lost their lives at the Garissa Attacks.

The students took time off their study and congregated at the SBS atrium, lighting 147 candles each symbolizing the number of students who died during the attack.
The MBA students emphasized on the sanctity of life stating that, “no one has the right to take the life of another person.” The students held placards stating “terrorism has no religion” and “together we stand against terrorism”.

Walton Otunga a 2nd year MBA student mentioned “As a country we have to refuse to be divided on the bases of religion by terrorist”. The MBA student then had 20 minutes of silent followed by prayers for the departed souls.

As an institution SBS condemns the act of terrorism as we pray for the souls of the departed and pray for the family and friends of the deceased.
