H.E. Graça Machel to Attend Agribusiness Forum at SBS

Strathmore Business School (SBS) will host a forum themed ‘New Faces in Agriculture: African Women in Agribusiness’ on Wednesday, 3rd March 2015 from 2pm. The forum has been organized by AWAN EA (African Women Agribusiness Network, East Africa), in collaboration with SBS, AWARD, Rafiki Microfinance Bank and CfC Stanbic Bank.


The Chief Guest is H.E. Graça Machel, former First Lady of Mozambique and South Africa. H.E. Rachel Ruto, wife of the Deputy President of Kenya, H.E. William Ruto, and Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Hon Felix Koskey, will also be among the key speakers.


The forum seeks to address issues such as the contribution of government to women in agribusiness; the role and contribution of women to African food security; gender issues facing agribusiness in Africa; the challenges of achieving export compliance in agribusiness; innovative ?nance for women in agribusiness; and the education of African agricultural research scientists.


The forum is consistent with recent efforts by SBS to provide knowledge and expertise, through specially designed programs and events from its Centre for Agribusiness Management, to people involved in agribusiness, which is emerging as the answer to food security issues in Africa.
