  Aug 24, 2015

An inspiration, a mentor, a great thinker and a father to all are just but a few of the phrases used by friends, family and colleagues to portray Dr. Njenga’s benevolence, as he marked his 50th birthday.

As the founding Dean of Strathmore Business School, an institutional landmark in executive education, Dr. Njenga’s visionary streak has been crucial in building the business’s school repute. SBS boasts of its East African and International dominance through collaborations with Regional and International partner Business Schools, with campuses in Nairobi and Kampala- Uganda. Status acquired from the quality of its education as well as its graduates. The institution has also borne great leaders across the region, transformation synonymous from the quality of its graduates. Aside from the rich blend of the institution’s Alumnae, Strathmore Business School has hosted world renowned scholars and leaders, such as Dr. Jim Yong Kim (current) 12th World Bank Group President, Former German President- Horst Kohler, Prof. Francis Fukuyama, Prof. Ali Mufuruki, all whom their presence acquaints the business’s school mission in attaining and attracting international repute.

Speaking during the celebratory ceremony at SBS, he made clear that it was the commonality of vision that has seen SBS through its limbs and up its feet. As the institution marks its ten years of existence, its founding inspiration; Saint José Maria has been fundamental in meeting the sole purpose of the institution which is service to society. Alluding from Dr. Njenga’s remarks during the launch of the tenth year anniversary celebrations, we measure our success by the number of lives we touch.

“…And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be jubilee for you…”

Happy Golden Jubilee Dr. Njenga!
