The European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) held its 3rd annual International conference on the 11th and 12th October, 2012 in Nairobi, Kenya. The Conference was co hosted by Strathmore Business School and the University of Nairobi School of Business. The attendees were deans from various business schools whose deliberations were centered on the theme Sustainable Business Education Appropriate for Africa.
In his opening speech Dr. George Njenga, the Dean of Strathmore Business School emphasized on the importance of collaboration as the key idea in enhancing business education in Africa.
The topics covered during the conference include, The Role of Business Schools in Africa, Partnerships, Management Development Powering Development, and Income Streams Which Governance for a More Sustainable Business School.
Prof. Derick de Jongh, one of the speakers, gave insight Engaging in the Transformation of Business and the Economy, Educating and Developing Globally Responsible Leaders and Enabling Business Organisations to serve the Common Good.
EFMD conference provided a platform for interaction among speakers from top African Business Schools and leading schools from across the EFMD global network, African companies and NGO’s.
