Tuesday, May 16th 2023, marked an important day for Strathmore University Business School’s Kenya Small Business Development Centers Program (Kenya SBDC) after signing a Memorandum of Understanding with KenTrade to support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
This partnership is geared towards enabling MSMEs to take advantage of export opportunities, facilitating cross-border trade.
“Lack of access to information is one of the challenges hindering MSMEs’ growth and exploitation of domestic and export markets. This partnership will promote the use of our Information for Trade in Kenya portal to ensure stakeholders understand the procedures to export and import across borders.” said David Ngarama, Acting Chief Executive Officer of KenTrade.
“There is a need for integrating our Kenyan MSMEs to ensure that they fully utilize African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) opportunities,’’ insisted Dr. George Njenga, Chief of Party, Kenya SBDC.
