Over the past week, 30 students undertaking the MBA Healthcare Management Programme at Strathmore University Business School visited Chitkara University, India for their international module. This module aims to expose the students to the healthcare industry in India and Asia at large.
The module consists of class visits, group discussions and industry visits. The industry visits saw the students visit hospitals and manufacturers such as the Department of Community Medicine and School of Public Health, PGIMER Chandigarh, Tynor Orthotics Private Limited, the leading manufacturer of Orthotics in India, Allengers Global Healthcare Private Limited and Allengers Infotech which commands 60 per cent of the market share of radiology cardiology, OT_equipments dental equipment in India.
Towards the end of the module, the students also visited Baddi, an industrial town located in the northern state of Himachal Pradesh, also known as India’s “Pharmaceutical Hub” and is home to over 500 pharmaceutical manufacturing units. In Baddi, they visited Morepen Laboratories Limited and Alkem Laboratories Ltd.
The MBA Healthcare Management Programme aims to equip healthcare managers with relevant skills for leading and managing the various facets and challenges that confront professional hospital and clinic managers, managers of NGO and Faith-Based health providers, and professionals in the emerging insurance, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries.
