On Friday, 24th September 2021, we graduated 265 students from the Bachelor of Commerce Programme, Class of 2021. The Strathmore University graduation this year was a hybrid event, (partly physical and partly online). Only the students graduating came to campus physically while their families followed the proceedings online.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Rev. Dr. Silvano Ochodho, Pro-Chancellor, Strathmore University, reminded the graduates of the value of their degrees and the importance of carrying forward what they have learnt.
“The degree you receive today is, in many ways, your insurance policy. It is a policy whose premium was paid in full by your hard work over the years you have been here at Strathmore University. The value of that policy depends on how much effort you put into your education and what you do with it as you go on,” Rev. Dr. Silvano Ochuodho.
Dr. Vincent Ogutu, the Vice-Chancellor Designate at Strathmore University, commended the class of 2021 on their resilience and agility in adapting to online learning and the many challenges that cropped up with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. “I applaud you for your exemplary resilience, flexibility and agility in forging forward despite the disruptions encountered. You are better prepared for the future of work, you are more digital, more tech-savvy and are now ready to join the world of work, ably equipped even for remote working,” Dr. Ogutu said.
The Bachelor of Commerce Programme is designed for students wishing to gain a degree qualification to maximize their career options.
