Last week, we hosted 28 graduate students from the Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM) affiliated business schools for the Global Network Week (GNW) 2025. This year’s cohort features a rich participant mix representing 11 countries: Kenya, Nigeria, China, USA, Singapore, Zimbabwe, Poland, Latvia, South Africa, and Lithuania.
The intensive week-long program gave delegates unparalleled access to SBS’s renowned faculty and exclusive engagements with Kenya’s foremost business leaders. Participants gained profound insights into East Africa’s dynamic business landscape through a carefully curated blend of in-class sessions, thought-provoking guest lectures, and immersive company visits.
One particularly impactful visit took students to Nia Fibre, where they witnessed sustainable innovation in action. The delegation observed the remarkable transformation of natural fibers into premium textiles while learning about the company’s dual mission of environmental stewardship and women’s empowerment through job creation. This experience powerfully demonstrated how African enterprises are successfully blending profitability with purpose – leaving participants inspired by the continent’s innovative approaches to conscious capitalism.
As GNAM’s flagship annual program, Global Network Week offers MBA students and faculty from member institutions a unique opportunity to pursue intensive study abroad experiences. The program leverages each host school’s distinctive perspectives, academic strengths, and regional expertise to create transformative learning journeys. Beyond classroom learning, GNW fosters valuable connections between participants while promoting collaborative research initiatives that advance global business understanding.
