Inclusive entrepreneurship improves access to the three key pillars of entrepreneurial success; networks, capital and markets, and creates the roadmap for a more sustainable and equitable future for all entrepreneurs.

By providing equal opportunities, we increase confidence in persons with disabilities and cultivate a sense of belonging. This makes for positive growth attitudes, and despite any disability, a person will pursue and work on their goals, thus contributing positively to society.

It is against this backdrop that Strathmore University Business School (SBS) partnered with the Association for Physically Disabled of Kenya (APDK) to design The Entrepreneurship Accelerator Programme for Persons with Disability, a 6-month training programme, funded by the Deutsche Gesellschaft fĂĽr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

The Entrepreneurship Accelerator Programme for Persons with Disability will over the next 5 months train 40 entrepreneurs from Nairobi living with disabilities to build the capacity of their enterprises by improving their business management skills to enhance business growth and foster sustainability.

The Programme will further help in advancing the inclusion and participation of Persons with Disability (PWDs) in entrepreneurship programmes to highlight the significant role they play in contributing to a robust entrepreneurship landscape in Kenya and demonstrate the role PWD Associations and private sector firms can play to facilitate this.
