On Wednesday, 21st June 2023, we hosted Dr. Witney Schneidman for a public lecture during which he shared his expertise and experience in U.S.-Africa Policy Practice, particularly in relation to private-sector led development in Africa.
During the lecture, Dr. Schneidman discussed his work with various U.S. and African businesses and governments across several countries in Africa such as Angola, Liberia, Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), South Africa, Uganda, and Kenya.
Drawing from his extensive experience, he shed light on the various challenges and opportunities involved in private-sector led development within these nations. While reflecting on the past, Dr. Schneidan also looked at the present and the future with a focus on potential areas of research for the Strathmore University student and faculty community.
The lecture served as a platform for knowledge sharing, critical thinking, and research exploration, fostering a deeper understanding of the role of the private sector in Africa’s development trajectory.
