The Women Directors Leadership Programme (WDLP) is a comprehensive Programme designed to empower and equip women for board and leadership positions. The Programme goes beyond advocating for gender diversity on boards and focuses on enhancing the performance and effectiveness of women in these roles.
As part of the Programme, participants had the opportunity to visit Cranfield University in the United Kingdom for their international module. The module, which took place between 5th and 9th June 2023 and commenced with a welcome dinner featuring Kate Grussing, the Managing Director and Founder of Sapphire Partners. This provided an excellent opportunity for the participants to network and engage with a prominent leader in the industry.
Throughout the week-long module, participants engaged in various activities including class sessions, group discussions, and industry visits. One notable visit was to Infitiv, located under the London Stock Exchange, during which the participants had the chance to interact with the team and explore topics such as risk management, the use of data and technology for decision making, and the impact of financial crimes such as money laundering, bribery, corruption, and green crime on businesses and society.
The module concluded with a dinner attended by the Rt. Hon. Patricia Scotland, the Secretary General of the Commonwealth. This provided a unique opportunity for the participants to engage with a prominent leader and gain insights into global governance and leadership.
Overall, the Women Directors Leadership Programme aims to provide women with the skills, knowledge, and networks necessary to excel in board and leadership roles. By focusing on performance and excellence, the program strives to create a more inclusive and diverse corporate landscape.
