Strathmore University was on 16th November 2018 awarded the Best University in Marketing Campaign at the Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK) Gala Awards held at the Nairobi Arboretum. This is the second time in a row, that Strathmore University has bagged this award.
The students who participated in the University Marketing Campaign category of the competition, who are also members of Strathmore Business School’s Marketing Club, are Lucy Kamau, Purity Kerubo, Vincent Mwangi, Laura Masira, Collins Wafula and Pauline Wangari. In line with the 2018 MSK theme: Marketing in The Age of Disruption, their campaign, focused on revolutionizing the advertising of Kingfisher Strawberry Light, a product of Kenya Wines and Agencies Limited, by using digital metrics and positioning the drink to target the female millennial audience hence optimizing the users experience.
The MSK Awards are the largest awards program in Kenya dedicated to honoring brands and teams that have shown exemplary excellence in marketing. The Awards are judged by a jury academy featuring seasoned members of the marketing fraternity.
Strathmore Business School (SBS), through its Marketing Club is committed to creating world-class co-curricular activities that make the Marketing Course relevant to the students in line with their career goals, entrepreneurial ambitions and job market needs. These include round table forums where they engage with marketing professionals, industry attachment and field assignments that are geared towards enhancing the student experience beyond the classroom in preparation for the job market and self-employment. The students also benefit from tutelage by marketing faculty who have a wealth of both teaching and industry experience.
