Aldo Leopold said conservation is a state of harmony between men and land. Strathmore Business School will be partnering with Nature Kenya in a charity golf tournament to raise funds to support conservation initiatives in Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBAs).
The upcoming charity golf tournament is a flagship activity under Nature Kenyas Lungs for Kenya campaign aimed at raising funds to plant a million trees in 4-sites in coastal Kenya. All proceeds from the golf tournament will go towards assisting communities living adjacent to the Arabuko Sokoke Forest at the Kenyan coastline, Dakatcha Woodlands, Taita Hills Forests and Tana River Delta, in 2014. This project aims to establish, manage and sustain communal tree nurseries and plant 100,000 seedlings, as part of the forests rehabilitation program.
SBS, having achieved the award of Best Green Building in Africa, will be supporting the Lungs for Kenya campaign as part of embracing the green building technology. SBS was on 30th March 2012 awarded the Best Green Building Development in Africa by the African Real Estate and Housing Finance (AREHF)
The event will be held on 21st March 2014 from 12 noon at the Karen Golf and Country Club. Do feel free to pay a visit at the SBS information stand and learn more about our programs.
