SBS Holds Directors’ Program in Regional Countries

  Jul 19, 2012

The Effective Director Executive Program (TED) was successfully held in Kampala – Uganda and Kigali – Rwanda with both attracting directors from the region. TED Kigali which ran from the 16th – 18th July 2012 at the Serena Kigali and TED Kampala which ran from the 19th – 21st July 2012 at the Serena Kampala attracted over 40 seasoned directors.

The program which aims squarely at current and future directors was delivered by a team of high-powered faculty members including the program leader, Sunny Bindra, David Wang’ombe, Dr. George Njenga and Dr. Jim Mcfie. The program was taught using case studies and introduced the participants to the 21st century board of directors, finances, boards and ethics.

TED was introduced to the regional market due to a need to provide quality management education to board directors who play a critical role in the governance and economic development in the private and public sectors.

The participants were able to understand how the boards have evolved and their responsibilities as board members. TED also enabled networking and interaction amongst fellow board directors.

About The Effective Director Executive Program

The Effective Director is a 3-day program that rides on the principles and lessons that will be accrued from case studies, group discussions and business videos. Apart from the well-versed faculty team that has been carefully selected to close the gaps encountered in the world of board directorship, participants will get to learn more from insights shared by seasoned board members from across the industries through a special round table session usually conducted on the last day of the program.
