SBS is pleased to announce the appointment of Ali Mufuruki as Honorary Executive fellow.
Mr. Mufuruki is the Executive Chairman of InfoTech Investment Group LTD, based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He has a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Design from The Fachhochschule for Technology and Economics in Reutlingen, Germany.
Upon accepting the appointment Mr. Mufuruki commented it is an honor to be appointed an Honorary Executive fellow, I am very excited and very humbled. I am also impressed by not only the structure, but the content of the programs that are offered (at SBS). I think Strathmore Business School could be one of those places that transform African leadership at a corporate, political and social level and I think they are doing a great job.
He added Africas need to develop more business leaders is crucial; to address its big challenges. We need more dedicated institutions such as Strathmore Business School to create such kind of leaders, Institutions that not only expose executives to international best practices, but also adapt these to African business realities.
Mr. Ali Mufuruki is currently the Lead CEO of the Tanzanian CEOs Round table that brings together CEOs of the top 50 companies in Tanzania, and is Chairman of the national carrier Air Tanzania Company Limited.
Mr. Mufuruki sits on the boards of Nairobi, Kenya-based Nation Media Group LTD, Tourism Promotion Services East Africa also of Kenya, Stanbic Bank Tanzania LTD and is a trustee of Social Action Trust Fund, a USAID funded non-profit organization that supports children made vulnerable by HIV Aids. He is a member of the Presidential Investors Roundtable (IIRT) that advises the President of Tanzania on a wide range of economic policy issues.
He is a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute and Chairman of the Africa Leadership Initiative (ALI), East Africa. He lives in Dar es Salaam with his wife and four children.
