Strathmore Institute of Public Policy and Governance (SIPPG), formerly Center for Public Policy and Competitiveness will be having an accreditation workshop on 11th – 12th of November, 2015. The accreditation is from the Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA), the largest accrediting body for public policy courses in the USA.
The accreditation process from the body is a voluntary peer review quality assurance process for Master’s degree programs in Public administration, public policy and public affairs. The cycle involves a self-study report of the analysis, thereafter, an interim report is issued and representatives from the accrediting body make gradual visits to the institution.
This year’s session will be facilitated by Prof. Nadia Rubaii from Binghamton University in the USA, with an aim of having the Masters in Public Policy Management program accredited.
The first institution visit was in 2013, with consequent visits following suit in 2014, and in 2015.
The accreditation process seeks to review and improve the program, advance knowledge and practice, and the identification of gaps in the program.
NASPAA’s entire accreditation approach is to encourage programs to improve continuously, and manage the programs strategically. The accreditation is a symbol of the quality of the program, as well as a commitment to improving public service education.
If you would like to attend, kindly confirm your attendance by close of Business on Friday 6th of November 2015 for planning.
