Knowledge Session for Alumni Held

Strathmore Business School was the backdrop of information on Self Leadership on Tuesday, 12th February 2013 as alumni members of the business school congregated for a breakfast session. The session themed, ‘Self Leadership for Heightened Productivity’ was delivered by IESE Business School’s Professor, Alberto Ribera, a professor in Managing People.

Prof. Ribera, stated that in horning self leadership skills, one has to be a critical thinker with a reflective mindset. S/he should always plan and execute tasks, should be reliable and should possess leadership qualities. He further stated that they should also strive to be excellent in operation management by working closely with people and developing their talent. He finalized by stressing on the need for accountability by saying that one should avoid excuses and reasons for not delivering.

Alumni Interim Committee members Leonard Ithau and Anne Gichanga addressed the SBS alumni members in attendance on the importance of joining the SBS Alumni Association whose sole mandate is to keep the alumni members in tune with the latest knowledge and best practice as well as connected with each other.

Through the association, the alumni will acquire knowledge on an on-going basis that will enhance both personal and professional development as well as competitiveness. The knowledge sessions will be on topical issues in the current environment.


Life membership

This entails a one-off payment of to the Alumni Association. One is issued with an alumni identification card with own photo and a unique identification number.

Annual membership

This is a yearly membership valid only for the material calendar year. One is issued with an Alumni identification card with own photo and a unique identification number. The card is only valid for the duration of the year, starting from January – December.


Free information sessions with select speakers, 5% discount of tuition fee on SBS programs /seminars and access to Strathmore University Library.

The benefits also include negotiated discounts at Automobile Association, selected health clubs and gyms, selected hotels and lodges, Business Daily and selected insurance companies.
