Dear SBS Family,
Easter greetings to you and your loved ones. I trust that you are keeping safe during this unprecedented COVID-19 crisis period. The pandemic is a catastrophe on a scale that the world has rarely seen. The challenge is first, to get through it and second, to come out of it in a way that enables us to build for the future, both in our personal lives and as an institution. To do either of these things, we need each other. We need to draw on support, recognizing our own need for help and we need to provide support to others. It is a moment to reaffirm our connection; our connection to family, to loved ones and friends.
As an institution, we acknowledge the predicament caused by the pandemic globally and to this end, Strathmore University Business School (SBS) through the Coaching department and Program for Family Development has begun an initiative to offer pro bono (free) group coaching for our healthcare frontline workers to cushion the crushing burden they are bearing. Additionally, we are keen to support our affected staff and students. We all must safeguard our family peace and psychological health during these difficult times.
I wish to sincerely thank the administration and faculty teams of SBS for your unwavering support during this period. Your collaboration and willingness to ensure the smooth transition to online learning is greatly appreciated and has proven our commitment to ensure that our goal of developing virtuous leaders continues uninterrupted.
As we look forward to Easter, be filled with faith and hope that this difficult time will eventually pass, and things will get better and brighter. May our inner peace be sustained, and our faith be firm as we pray for one another and the world. Christ’s resurrection during this Easter gives a whole new meaning to humanity. As we cling on to our faith, may we be reminded of the words of Pope John Paul II “Do not abandon yourselves to despair. We are the Easter people and hallelujah is our song.”
I wish you and your families a joyful Easter season.
