What Makes the SBS MBA Un-matched?
The entry criteria follows a rigorous entrance examination process, which involves a written exam and an oral interview, prior to which a set of criteria should have been met including at least 2 years managerial experience and 1st/2nd Upper Class degree (2nd lower should have supporting diplomas). These processes are geared towards ensuring that the mix of participants will yield engaging discussions influenced by each participants’ rich backgrounds.
The years of experience is displayed by the profiles that describe the class. Typical titles include: Managing Director, CEOs, to Program Analysts, (Chief) Finance Managers, Marketing Heads, Agribusiness Managers, ICT Professionals, Doctors and Corporate/Regional Affairs, among other specialised professionals. The percentage of women in this year’s class have taken a slight slump to 40%, compared to above 50% in 2012.
Usually, participants are taken through an orientation process, where they are welcomed by the Dean of the business school, addressed by a key faculty member, as well as get to hear the experiences of former MBA participants, who generally give tips on how to sail through the MBA journey. Course files are then distributed to the participants, wherein lies the first trimester’s schedule and course readings for the entire trimester.
We wish the new entrants of the SBS Part-time the very best in throughout their MBA journey.
