Doing Business in Africa Program Offers Opportunity for Free Business Consultation

  Jul 27, 2018

Strathmore University Business School (SBS) in partnership with IESE Business School in Barcelona, Spain are inviting organizations to participate in an opportunity of getting free top-notch consulting services in an area where the business may be experiencing some difficulty i.e. in either Growth Strategy, Operations, and Planning or Marketing. This has been made possible through the course dubbed “Doing Business in Africa: New Realities Program.”

In this project, students from IESE Business School who work in various organizations across the globe will visit Nairobi for a period of two weeks in January. After a one-week intensive training program at SBS, where they get a wholesome perspective on doing business in the continent, they will subsequently work with pre-selected businesses in Kenya that match their area of interest, for purposes of assisting an organization to solve a specific business problem that is hand-picked/ highlighted by management in advance.

The program is divided into two stages:

Off-site

During this stage, the company will be working closely with the students, who are based in Spain and Vancouver between October-December 2018 on an offsite arrangement. At this stage, both parties will continuously engage from time to time via phone and Skype, to review pre-agreed milestones with the management.

On-site

January 7th, 2019 and January 14th – 18th 2019

During this stage the students will come from Barcelona and will be physically in the country/your business premises to engage with relevant stakeholders – owners, competitors, clients, employees etc. – And thereafter present a preliminary report on their findings to management after 4 days.

The lead consultants who will work with the students are Dr. Fred Ogola- Senior Strategy Lecturer in Strathmore Business School and Prof. Alex Lago – Senior Lecturer Production, Technology and Operations Management, IESE Business School.

Upon your expression of interest on the consultancy project and subsequent shortlisting, the Doing Business in Africa Team will schedule a meeting between you and the lead consultants. The intended aim is to refine the problem areas highlighted by management and clarify the targets and expectations of both parties.

Given the success of the program in previous years, with our previous classes, we would like to invite you and your organization to participate this year. The consultancy service provided by this top-notch Business School students, to the final shortlisted and qualifying organizations is free of charge!
