Launch of the Strathmore Enterprise Development and Innovation Center (SEDIC)

On Thursday, 17th November 2022, we officially launched the Strathmore Enterprise Development and Innovation Center (SEDIC).

The Center’s launch, officiated by Dr. Vincent Ogutu, Vice Chancellor, Strathmore University and Dr. Angela Ndunge, the Acting Executive Dean, Strathmore University Business School, took place just before the official kick-off of the Annual SME Conference and Expo 2022.

The Center, initially known as the Strathmore Enterprise Development Center (SEDC) has over the past 12 years impacted more than 12,000 entrepreneurs and is making efforts continuous efforts in building a robust SME ecosystem in Kenya and beyond through partnerships with government, non-governmental organizations, private sector, academia, among others.

SEDIC, housed at Strathmore University Business School, was set up to address the needs of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and to provide solutions to the various practical, real-life problems they come across. In addition to capacity-building Programmes, the Centre also provides business development support services from business advisory, coaching, mentoring, networking forums, SME conferences and linkages to the market.

The motivation for establishing the Centre is in line with the University’s vision to become the leading outcome-driven entrepreneurial university in the region, offering world-class and accessible high-quality university education and training in areas such as information and communications technology, business leadership and management, hospitality management and education.
