Human Resources for Health Mechanism (HRH) is a five-year project funded by United States Agency for International Development (USAID) (September 27, 2016 to September 26, 2021

The mechanism seeks to strengthen health workforce (HW) management to achieve improved health outcomes in 27 high disease-burden focus counties aligned to President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and president malaria initiatives (PM)I priorities. The project is implemented by HRH Kenya as the Lead and SBS and AMREF Health International as the sub awardees.

SBS role in the project is:

  • Improve quality of pre – service training, faculty, environment and curriculum
  • Improving county HR Managers’ technical, leadership and governance skills
  • Institutionalize iHRIS functions and use of data for decision making at National and county levels
