Olufunso Somorin

Dr. Olufunso Somorin is a Regional Principal Officer at the African Development Bank.  He leads the Bank’s work on climate change and green growth in the 13 countries of the Bank’s East African region. This includes supporting countries’ access to climate finance for implementing their climate actions, and mainstreaming climate change in all Bank policies and programs.

He holds a PhD in International Environmental Policy from Wageningen University, the Netherlands, as well as two Masters’ degrees from Finland and Netherlands on Agriculture and Forest Policy. He gives guest-lectures at King’s College London, African Leadership University (Rwanda) and Strathmore University (Kenya). Somorin is an Eisenhower Fellow.

Davis Cook

Davis is the CEO of RIIS, the largest innovation-focused advisory firm in Africa, focused on the nexus of strategy, innovation, and development. Davis is based in Kenya where he leads the East Africa activities of RIIS and the broader Anza group, which include Anza Capital, an early-stage VC fund, and the SA Innovation Summit, one of the largest start-up events in Africa. He is the past Chairperson for ZASpace, the industry lobby group for the South African private space sector, a Karman Fellow, and an M&G 200 Young South African Leader.

He has a diverse professional history, including global strategy and management consulting, public sector (SA local government), start-ups (renewable energy and FMCG) and corporate environments. Having worked across Johannesburg, London and now Nairobi, he has worked with multinational companies and development-focused institutions in 35 countries. His work at RIIS has helped (or is helping to) build major innovation ecosystems in the mining, energy, and space sectors across Africa.

His academic background includes undergraduate degrees in Physics and Applied Math (UP), and Politics, Philosophy and Economics (UNISA); and post-grad degrees in Development Studies (SOAS), Futures Studies (USB), and an Executive MBA from IESE.

Ikechukwu Anoke

Ikechukwu Arthur Anoke is an award winning transformational leader in Africa, with over 20 years of experience including 17 years in various leadership positions. Today, Ikechukwu is the Founder and CEO of Zuri Health, a multi-award-winning Healthtech company.  Zuri Health’s mission is to provide quality, affordable and accessible healthcare services to patients across Sub-saharan Africa via mobile app, website and SMS service.

He is also the founder and Executive Director of Play Group Limited, a company offering 360-degree mobile content, entertainment, and experiential marketing.  Ikechukwu is a member of multiple boards,including Brandlife and Imaginative EA Marketing Agency.  A trailblazer from a young age, Ikechukwu became the Group CEO at MTech Communications PLC at the age of 27.  Under his leadership, the company became the biggest music content aggregator in Africa, expanded into 17 African countries, and diversified its products to include fintech.

Ikechukwu has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Nnambi Azikiwe University, completed the Owner Management Program at Strathmore Business School and is currently pursuing his Global Executive MBA at IESE Business School.

Heinrich Liechtenstein

Professor Liechtenstein holds a Ph.D. in Managerial Science and Applied Economics from The Economics School of Vienna, Austria, a Master’s degree in Business Administration from IESE Business School, and a BSc in Business Economics from the University of Graz. Professor Liechtenstein specializes in entrepreneurial finance, management of wealth and governance of entrepreneurial families. He is co-author on several publications on private equity. His ongoing research in this field focuses on operational value creation in private equity, impact investing and governance of entrepreneurial families. Professor Liechtenstein lectures in the MBA and Executive Programs. As a consultant he collaborated with leading families and financial institutions and serves on the board of family controlled foundations. Prior to his academic career, Professor Liechtenstein was engaged in the family owned Liechtenstein Global Trust (LGT) dealing with ultra high net worth individuals. He also advised families within the Boston Consulting Group and established and sold two successful businesses.
