The Strathmore Global Institute (SGI), Uganda in the vibrant city of Kampala recently played host to a week-long international module as part of the Executive Leadership Programme (ELP) 2023 for senior managers from CRDB Bank Tanzania.

The module provided a comprehensive and immersive learning experience for the participants, covering a wide range of topics essential for their professional growth and development.

During this module, the participants had the privilege of delving into the intricacies of the business dynamics and industry foresight, in Uganda and on a global scale. The sessions during this module aimed to equip them with the necessary knowledge and insights to navigate the ever-changing business landscape, anticipate future trends, and effectively manage disruptions in their respective roles.

Throughout the week, the participants engaged in interactive sessions and workshops that explored various areas of leadership from ethical leadership, personal leadership, self-reflection, and leading with integrity. Strategic thinking, formulation, and execution were also key focal points, enabling the participants to develop a holistic approach to decision-making and organizational success.

Additionally, the module emphasized the significance of operational excellence, equipping the senior managers with practical tools and strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within their teams and departments.

Two significant milestones marked the culmination of the module; a captivating guest speaker session with Cathy Adengo, Head of Sustainability at Stanbic Bank, Uganda. Ms.Adengo shared insights on sustainability, highlighting its importance in the current business landscape and shedding light on the strategies employed by leading organizations to integrate sustainability into their operations.

The session sparked thought-provoking discussions and provided valuable perspectives on the future of sustainable business practices.

The second milestone was an excursion to the Kisubi Tombs and Jinja, a picturesque town renowned for being the source of the Nile River and home to the breathtaking Busowoko Falls. This visit allowed the participants to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of Uganda, experiencing firsthand the country’s awe-inspiring landscapes and cultural heritage. The excursions provided a refreshing break from the intensive learning sessions and offered an opportunity for the participants to bond and reflect on their experiences.
