The Agri-Markets Data for Investment and Growth (AMDiG) Community of Practice (CoP) is a multi-stakeholder partnership that brings together actors from government, academia, the private sector, and development organizations to accelerate inclusive agricultural transformation in Kenya through data-driven market integration.

Coordinated by the Strathmore Agri-Food Innovation Centre (SAFIC), AMDiG seeks to champion evidence-based interventions to unlock market potential and stimulate private sector action. These evidence-based approaches can unlock the untapped potential of agricultural markets and stimulate meaningful private sector participation. The operational framework of the CoP focuses on tackling systemic challenges hindering institutions in the agri-markets ecosystem from achieving their objectives in data and insights generation, decision-making, investment planning, and farmer support.

The CoP is organized around three thematic areas:

  • Mainstreaming data insights for value chain and enterprise decision-making and investment.
  • Aligning government priorities and policy positions with farmer practices, private sector needs, and investments.
  • Building efficient and sustainable supply chains through effective value chain coordination, formalization, and governance.
